The Davis a/v credenza was a custom commissioned piece for a Manhattan client who wanted several functional features all in a low, sleek attractive form. The curved center unit, which consists of adjustable shelving and two doors, was made to house audio/visual components and hold a tv on top. The unit is on wheels and can be easily pulled out from between the two flanking cases and positioned as desired. I came up with tapered “ways” that help guide the unit easily into its docking space and an effective wire management system that ensures unobstructed movement. The flanking units each house a “drawer within a drawer” — the main large drawer opens easily by way of a top edge finger purchase/groove, sliding on undermount hardware. A shallow, divided, top drawer within can then be pushed back to access the deap, main drawer beneath, allowing for a large amount of organized space while maintaining the clean outward appearance.
