My “Confluence” wall sculpture is a recent recreation of a much smaller original piece of the same design, titled simply “#4”, that I first created along with a series of other wall sculptures during the early days of the pandemic in Spring 2020. Like the original, this piece is made from a solid piece of Peruvian mahogany. It is hand sculpted and ebonized (blackened) with a dye and then burnished and oiled and waxed. In addition to being much larger than the original “#4”, “Confluence” also has the hand painted colors. It should also be noted that , though not visible in the image, texturing and color etc. continue around the corners to the edges of the piece.
