My Boothbay desk was originally commissioned by a client in the neighboring town of Boothbay, here in coastal Maine. More classical than a lot of my designs, I was directed by my clients tastes, who also wanted some more contemporary accents. This is the design I came up with.

The desk is solid cherry with ebony accents including the leg banding , where the legs begin to taper, and the hand made drawer pulls. I added a piece of steel just under the top to assist the span of the front edge which includes the weight of a file drawer.

The original desk had a central keyboard tray. A subsequent commissioned desk (pictured) has a hand dovetailed, tiger maple pencil drawer. The last three  images are of this piece photographed on my loading dock before I delivered it to its home in Philadelphia.
